Mission Statement

The long-term vision of the City of Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is a system that operates within a sustainable financial framework while protecting the environment and providing high quality of life for City residents. With over 2,000 acres of parklands located throughout the City, the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department welcomes you to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities in our community. Enjoy a family picnic, hike the trails, and take advantage of the many recreational activities. A variety of our parks also host ethnic festivals, concerts, public outdoor art and sculpture, and historical monuments. Information on City Cemeteries is also available.
